The goal of Shoes From Susan is to allow people the dignity of picking out their own NEW shoes to wear. In order to do that,

Shoes From Susan will provide those in need with a gift card where THEY get to try on and decide what NEW SHOES THEY WANT.

Shoes From Susan has been established to provide NEW shoes to children and adults that simply cannot afford to buy them. The truth is most of these people would be given shoes if they needed them, but these shoes are generally used and out of style. (When was the last time someone donated a new pair of Nikes?)  Many times, the recipients are embarrassed to wear these shoes around their peers, especially school-aged children. Shoes From Susan’s mission is to dispel the embarrassment while bolstering their pride and dignity.

The organization recognizes the importance of shoes beyond fashion, as they provide comfort and protection for children living in poverty. By allowing children to pick out their own shoes, Shoes From Susan aims to empower them and give them a sense of control over their lives. Proper sizing is also a priority to ensure that the shoes fit well and provide the necessary support.
